This series examines my artistic exploration of internal struggles through the symbolic representation of hands. Drawing from historical and contemporary influences, I investigate how hands convey emotion, mental health and internal conflict. By focusing on the interplay between realism and emotional distortion, I show hands not as cooperative tools, working in tandem, but as two things in conflict. One represents myself and the other embodies my own inner demons of doubt, fear, and societal pressures. The black and white enhances the duality of light and dark, drawing on themes of control, resilience and vulnerability. My choice of stippling, where each dot symbolizes an individual thought or experience, intensifies the psychological weight of this series. This project is rooted in personal and collective struggles with confidence, mental health and societal pressures. By drawing my own hands, I create an intimate, but universal narrative, inviting viewers to reflect their own inner demons. Ultimately, this body of work serves as a means of release of my own inner demons, and a space for audience engagement, showing how art functions as both a method of confrontation, and healing.
